Heres my plan. The Black lines are the surports and the red one is a hatch door to put gear under. Getting it welded up on the 15th of march.

Sugerz

I am just interested as to why you are going aluminium for the casting deck and not marine ply? Are you going to carpet the aluminium?

Hi there im going aliminum because of the lighter weight, and yes im going to stick marine carpet over the top so if it gets wet i wont slip.

I cant keep it down at all because the alimnium that the boat is made out of is to light to weld to. I can only weld the deck on to the boat at about 10mm down. But once it is all welded up im going to put a bit of rubber around the edges of the deck.
Ill put some pics up after is gets welded and ill see what you guys think. But it still wont be a finished project yet ill still need to do a few more things such as put the carpet on, put rod holders on, hook up fish finder, put the seats and things on etc.

 In time will will probly put a floor right through the whole boat, but ill just do this deck and see what happens.

Hi Sugerz,

If the guy can not weld to the side's i would think about riveting a piece of flat around the edge at the depth you want and then weld of that.It would only need to be 3mm by say 30 mm. Thin enough to mould to the shape of your boat, but more then thick enough to weld to.While rivets are not the prefered option it will allow you more choice on your setup.
OtherwiseI hope the decision to go to the top doesn't come back to bite you.
