Re: Maiden Trip chasing murray craysCrays love areas that have lots of clay reef, Echuca down to deep creek marina has plenty of these area's. Bait your nets with Carp and work sections until you find a few.
Re: Maiden Trip chasing murray craysGood advice Daddles and Mick make sure you do a couple of runs in an area (I normally do them on the hour, quicker if you are getting plenty) and if nothing, move them. I have normally done all my craying at night, but unless you are pretty familiar with the water you are fishing in, this can be a bit dangerous.
A mate and I got in excess of 120 during the day two weeks ago (took a fair while to get our 5 keepers each though) so they are about during the daylight hours. As Daddles said, carp is great, but if you don't have access to carp, get to a local fishmonger and get some fish frames. Good luck Buzzo
Re: Maiden Trip chasing murray craysthanks for the info guys, i ended up getting bout 15 - 20 crays. i didnt chase them to hard as my bout has no nav lights on it so was restricted by the daylight. thanks again and will definately be heading down that way chasing them again.
cheers mick
