today at 5 pm he lost his fight against CANCER

Sorry to tear about you mate Tates.
We got in each other ears at the MM trip and he was a real nice bloke, one of the real old "bushies".

We were fishing in the boat at one stage and he come up near us and fished for a while and had a yarn.
We were looking at his rigs thinking he fishers like my dad and some other old mates- tree trunk for a rod and rope for line and he also told us like they all do too- you blokes are fishing with cotton :lol:

Sorry to hear about Ian Tates, he seemed to have a ball at the MM trip. He wasn't letting the fact he just had major surgery stop him from going fishing with ya. What a legend...RIP
