Postby bigshrimp » Thu Mar 11, 2010 12:14 am

G'day all , this may be old news to some but I've just discovered that the satelite Map for Mulwala has been updated .... When the lake was empty .
Awesome to zoom in to have a look , I've got some new spots sussed near where I do alot of fishing already , can even see the snags.
Just type Mulwala into the search engine and zoom in to your favorite spots. 8)

Mick

For your interest and others, I spent 4hrs on the computer the other night printing out the lake map. I now have a complete 3mtr X 1.5mtr map on the back wall in the shop for all to see. Make for some very interesting conversations on where and why people fish certain parts of the lake.

Mick

Just depends on how far you have zoomed in when you print it. I have produced a couple of smaller maps that live in the boat.

Its good to compare to the GPS map I made when the was down.
Looks like I would have 95% of the channels on my GPS.

Its an awesome bit of info that map . Its also where i see myself questioning all this modern technology used to pin point spots all on display for the masses. I dont fish the lake at mulwala much anymore bar a few trips scattered over the season i like my solitude to much now  . The thing is before all the info out there(google earth, gps ,really good sounders) there was only one way to learn a fishery fish it hard and lots to build up your knowledge put in prospective alot of them channels took me over a decade to learn how to acess them and fish them alot of them i only started to fish well 3-4years back byspending thousands of hours on the lake a season. A lot of the skills needed to become a good fisho have been shortned heaps in a very short time

Along the bottom of Mul, at Bathumi, there is an awesome place on the bank that has a little golf course, a massive house. Is it some extremely wealthy person's house?? Or is it just my eyes playing tricks on me?

Doodah

It is a magnificent house owned by the Tripp family. Said to be worth between $8-10 Million??. They have open days there every so often for our local cancer support group. Their gardens are unbelievable.
Personaly have not been in the house but it's meant to be increadable. Half their luck.
