I used to have a canopy on my old Commodore Ute, and had a set of those Velcro Rod holders. Slide the ends into the felt lined circles at the end, then Velcro the butts up nice and snug. No dramas to leave the reels on, and they don't rattle. I will have a look in my brothers boat tomorrow for the brand as he has a set the same for securing his rods in his rod locker.

Sorry mate, forgot all about it. Went around to have a look, ended up starting the reno's for his new Bathroom. (I shoulda stayed home )
What you made looks the goods, maybe another piece of ply nearer the front with a "g" cut out to rest the tops of your rods on.
